Eligibility

In order to participate in the 2024 Commencement, students must be in one of the following categories:

Fall 2023/Winter 2024 Graduates

• Fall graduates complete all degree requirements by December 31, 2023.
• Winter graduates complete all degree requirements by February 1, 2024.
• Degree audit filing deadline is September 15, 2023.

Spring 2024 Graduates

• Complete all degree requirements by June 1, 2024.
• Degree audit filing deadline is February 15, 2024.

Summer 2024 Graduates

• Complete all degree requirements by September 1, 2024.
• Degree audit filing deadline is March 15, 2024.
• Summer 2023 graduates interesting in participating in commencement should contact us at the beginning of the spring semester.

Students who file for graduation after March 15, 2024, will not have their name listed in the commencement program and may not be able to participate in the 2024 Commencement.

How to File for Graduation

You can file for graduation via your Self-Service area in CUNYfirst for the semester in which you anticipate meeting degree requirements. All degree requirements must be met before you can be graduated.

Additional Information

If you have missed the deadline to file for graduation, file for the next available graduation date. After you have filed, e-mail us to alert the Office of the Registrar that you believe you are eligible for the graduation date you missed so that your request can be researched. Requests are processed according to graduation date and in the order the request was received. If you missed the deadline, we cannot guarantee you the graduation date you are seeking.
